SearchKit launched

Beanplanet has launched SearchKit officially today. With over a decade of search experience we thought it was about time we standardised the way we implement search in our applications.
SearchKit is an enterprise search toolkit that works with popular search platforms like Microsoft Fast, Lucene and Solr and Google Search Applicance. SearchKit presents a platform-independent view of search over a platform-specific search engine. The benefits are huge both in terms of reduced timescales and cost.
Core features:
- Unified query model: work with the same query model, independently of the search platform. Simple queries are supported all the way up to complex boolean queries, faceted and field-based queries. Ability to include query processors which can manipulate the query prior to execution.
- Unified response model: work with the same response model, independently of the search platform. Ability to include response processors which can manipulate results prior to the response being returned to the application.
- Web services: simple versioned web services which support all of the query and response functionality. Results can be generated in JSON or XML format.
- Out-of-the-box User Interface (UI) components implementing many of the search design patterns for results presentation, faceted search and breadcrumbs.
